- Elaine Ataba has been the proud owner of Sage Acupuncture, formerly known as the One Stop Body Shop, since November 2000.
- She was born and raised in Maryland and attended undergraduate school at St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland. She graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and Comparative Literature. While in college she met the man who is now her husband.
- She completed Pre-Veterinary Requirements at UCSD and worked as an Orthopedic and Emergency Veterinary Technician at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Rancho Santa Fe. The orthopedic work required working with a physical therapist and this lead to an interest in Massage Therapy.
- In 2000, she received her Massage Therapist Degree from the International School of Bodywork and jumped at the chance to run her own business while working in a medium that gave her tremendous satisfaction. She took over the One Stop Body Shop. Four years later she entered the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine to pursue a lifelong interest in Chinese philosophy and medicine.
- She graduated in April 2007 with a Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine which qualifies her to treat patients as a Primary Health Care Provider. She incorporates herbal medicine, massage, breathing techniques and nutritional counseling into her acupuncture practice.
- While completing her studies she gave birth to a precious baby boy- Sage Aviv and on November 4, 2009, gave birth to a baby girl.
