How to Use Aromatherapy
Essential oils are highly concentrated extracts from the aromatic parts of herbs, flowers, trees and grasses; therefore, they must be used with care. Apply them drop-by-drop until the desired aroma or effect is met. It is best to dilute them in oil, lotion, water, or in a scrub so as to minimize irritation on the skin. The general rule is to use less essential oils for sensitive skin, children and the elderly.
Bath: Add no more than 8-10 drops directly to the bath. Stir the water briskly to disperse oils evenly.
Massage: Add Essential Oils to carrier oil, such as almond, grapeseed or sesame oil. Approximately 10 drops are needed for every 1-2 ounce.
Skin Care: Add 10 drops of Essential Oils to 1 ounce of carrier oil, lotion or cream. Mix well and apply.
Body Scrubs: Essential Oils added to Scrubs not only enhance the aroma experience, but are therapeutic for the skin and body as well.
Hair Care: Add essential oils to shampoo and conditioners.
Air Spritzers: Add approximately 20 drops to 8 ounce of water in a spray mist bottle. Or use a diffuser, lamp ring or potpourri pot
