About The Therapist

Elaine Ataba BA, HHP, NCTMB

Elaine Ataba is the owner and the primary therapist at the One Stop Body Shop.

She graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from St. John’s College. She then moved to San Diego to begin her married life and pursue Veterinary Medicine.

While completing her Pre-Vet Requirements at UCSD she worked as an Orthopedic and Emergency Veterinary Technician at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Rancho Santa Fe. The orthopedic work required working with a physical therapist and this lead to an interest in Massage Therapy. She received her Massage Therapist Degree from the International School of Bodywork. Elaine jumped at the chance to run her own business while working in a medium that gave her tremendous satisfaction so she quickly purchased her Massage Therapy Business- The One Stop Body Shop. For the past four years, Elaine has been studying Oriental Medicine and Bodywork at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. She will graduate in 2008 with her Masters in Oriental Medicine and will add Acupuncture, Herbs and Nutrition to her practice.

Goals

In the future, she plans on incorporating her other true passion of working with animals in the form of Veterinary Acupuncture. She loves to travel and planned on heading out to China in April 2008 to study at a hospital, but that trip will have to be postponed due to the arrival of her first baby boy!

Hobbies

Reading, Painting, Meditation, Any Outdoor Physical Activity, Watching Sports, Petting her Cat Chunky, Working in Garden, Recycling.
